Waterlase MD™ Turbo
The Waterlase MD Turbo cool laser is now available at the Beverly Hills office of Los Angeles cosmetic dentist, Dr. Kourosh Maddahi.

Waterlase MD Turbo is a cool laser. Up until this technical breakthrough a laser was inherently heat based. This significant difference – Waterlase is the only cool laser used in dentistry – means no more burning to remove tissue and bone.
Laser dentistry technology can now be used for drilling cavities. The speed of this new high-tech laser is nearly equal to a high-speed drill, without the noise, vibration, no drill smell and frequently, without the pain. In fact, many patients have found they can get a cavity filled without the use of any anesthesia.
As with earlier varieties of laser dentistry, another important use is in recontouring gums. Where a patient feels that their smile is "too gummy" this new laser is used to remove the extra gum, but it is now far faster, with less pain and faster healing.
In the treatment of periodontal disease, dental lasers can be used on infected gums to greatly reduce inflammation. Such treatment keeps the area free from returning bacteria for up to 30 days. This new instrument has greatly reduced the pain of this vital treatment. Once treated, the vaporized tissue, which was previously infected, will grow back bacteria free.
At the office of Dr. Maddahi, the days of 6 to 8 weeks of healing after crown lengthening are gone. In this circumstance, where a tooth needs a crown but too much of the tooth is missing, this procedure can now be done right in the office and with much less pain and recovery time than traditional methods.
