Kathy Griffin on the Oprah Winfrey Show

Oprah - Commedienne Kathy Griffin has been making audiences laugh for more than a decade. Best known for her role as "Vicki" on NBC's Suddenly Susan, this season she's cracking viewers up on NBC's Average Joe.

Oprah – Ok. Ten different things at one time?

Kathy Griffin – Well I didn't really have them all done at once. By the way you are a vision in ivory.

Oprah – Oh, thank you so much.

Kathy – Barbara Striesand would be very happy.

Oprah – She wore that the last time she was here.

Kathy – Anyway I had the nose job like a year ago. But the things I had done at once, and I was inspired by Extreme Makeover, which I love. The things I had done at once were a brow lift, which is where they take your eyebrows and put them on a whole other part of your head. And afterwards you look refreshed. That's one of the buzzwords they love. They're like gonna cut your head open, and then "You look refreshed."

Kathy – So then I had a browlift and I had teeth veneers, which I love. Alright, now I call them my soap opera teeth. They're perfect, right?

Oprah – Do they actually put something over each tooth?

Kathy Griffin - Yes, well first thing they do is whittle your teeth down to pegs, like George Washington.

Oprah – No!

Kathy Griffin – Yes, you have peg teeth. (Laughs)

Oprah – They do? They do…ok.

Kathy Griffin - …and then they put the veneers on. I got a guy named Dr. Maddahi who is really a good guy. I thought he was really a good. And then they can kind of shape them the way they want. And so my bottom teeth were crooked, and he made them straighter and the top ones he made a little straighter.

Oprah – So, these last you for life?

Kathy Griffin - Yes, I think for life.

Oprah – Ok , good.

Kathy Griffin – Yes, yes, they are for life.

Oprah – Ok, so you are happy with everything …
