At our office we use a dental air drill on cavities whenever possible.
This device uses compressed air combined with a fine powder to drill into the decayed tooth.
Many times no anesthetic is required with an air drill procedure because the tooth is not exposed to extreme temperature changes like with a traditional metal dental drill.
