We recommend brushing after every meal.  At minimum, you should brush twice a day.  For the times you don’t have a toothbrush available, chew a piece of sugarless gum for five minutes.
However, brushing three times a day is best.

While I have not come across one brand that is better than other, what I recommend to my patients is to use a very soft bristled toothbrush.  Any major toothbrush brand is fine.

While translucent teeth can be whitened; often the results are not that dramatic.  In some cases bleaching increases the translucency.

Either treatment can be done if there is enough tooth structure and the dental bite is OK.  With new dental bonding agents, veneers will adhere to the teeth very well.
