High-tech Dental Restoration System Creates Permanent Same-Day Dental Crowns

Dental crowns have gone high tech with fast and natural-looking options for patients in Los Angeles.  Dental restorations, like crowns, have often taken several appointments to complete.  Now a new dental system has eliminated the need for multiple appointments or temporary crowns.  Permanent dental crowns can be designed and completed in just one afternoon. Los Angeles dental restoration specialist and cosmetic dentist, Dr. Kourosh Maddahi, has begun using the Cerec System to give his patients high-quality, dental crowns quickly and conveniently. After the patient has been settled comfortably into the examination chair, Dr. Maddahi and his team begin the Beverly Hills same-day dental crown procedure by preparing the tooth and removing any areas of decay or affected tissue.  A digital optical impression of the tooth is taken with a specialized camera.  Dr. Maddahi examines the 3-D image as he begins to design a customized crown for the patient. Digital images of the natural teeth are also taken and analyzed using the Shade Vision System to determine their exact hue and color variations.  The data is used to help select the correct shade of ceramic material for the dental crown. Once the design is completed it is sent to the in-office milling machine where the crown is sculpted in about ten to 20 minutes.  Dr. Maddahi makes sure the crown fits properly and tests the bite, before the permanent crown is polished and bonded into place.  The appointment takes just a few hours instead of having to return for multiple appointments.  Click here to watch a video segment on this dental restoration procedure.
