Are dental amalgams considered safe?

The American Dental Association still endorses dental amalgams. However, mercury vapors are transmitted from dental amalgams on a daily basis, especially when you drink anything hot or when you chew on it. Because of this, Dr. Maddahi does not recommend amalgam fillings.
