How can dental pulp be removed?

Dental pulp, or the nerve, is removed by doing a root canal procedure. When performing a root canal the tooth is numbed, then the nerve is removed and the dental canal is cleaned out. A rubber root canal material is placed into the dental canal to complete the treatment.
