When does dental pulp need to be removed?
Jun 5th, 2008 by Dr. Kourosh Maddahi DDS
Dental pulp will need to be removed if a cavity penetrates the dental pulp or nerve. When this happens, the nerve can become infected and die. If the nerve dies, bacteria may enter the dead tissue inside of the tooth structure. Because antibiotics can not reach the dental canal, so area will need to be cleaned and sealed to protect against bacteria entering into the dental canal.
