Should mouthwash be used once a day or twice a day?

Mouthwash is typically used for three reasons:
- Cavities
- Inflammation around bleeding gums
- Bad breath
For patients who have a lot of inflammation around the gums and or have bleeding gums, I will recommend using mouthwash twice a day. Also, for patients who have bad breath, I recommend mouthwash twice a day. But ordinarily, if these are not big issues, once a day should be fine.
