Can eating healthy lead to healthy teeth?

Your diet does affect the health of your teeth. The health of your teeth and gums, the lack of plaque and debris, and the freshness of your breath can be a constant reminder of the status of your overall health.
The healthier your body is the healthier your teeth for the most part. A healthy diet with lots of fresh fruits and vegetables helps promote healthy teeth. These types of foods tend to aid in the removal of plaque off of the teeth before it turns into tartar. It is tartar that can cause pockets in the gums where bacteria can take root and cause decay.
