A deficiency in vitamin C may lead to several problems in the oral cavity such as canker sores. Vitamin C helps speed up the healing of those sores in the mucus membrane of the oral cavity. A good source of vitamin C is grapefruit and orange juice.
Studies also have shown cranberry juice to bring down the bacterial content in the oral cavity that is the source of plaque in the teeth and gum area. A good way to take in cranberry juice is by making a 25% solution of cranberry juice with water as solvent.
