Treating Periodontal Disease with Dental Lasers
May 7th, 2009 by Dr. Kourosh Maddahi DDS
Dental lasers are a great option for patients that are experiencing periodontal disease issues. We use the laser to treat the infected gums and also to help reduce inflammation in the gum area. The laser can also be used to stop bacterial growth for about 60 days. This allows for new tissue to grow back in a bacteria-free environment. Many times when these treatments are combined with good home care by the patient, the dental issues can be solved.
