Why do teeth become discolored?
Jun 3rd, 2009 by Dr. Kourosh Maddahi DDS
Teeth can become discolored for many reasons. Some reasons can include consuming staining liquids or foods like coffee, cola, tea, red wine or red sauces. Aging can cause teeth to become discolored, as can smoking. When teeth are being formed, the ingestion of certain antibiotics like tetracycline or excessive amounts of fluoride also can cause stains.
