The Waterlase MD Turbo is a cool laser used for dental procedures. This new technology allows Dr. Maddahi to complete procedures with speeds comparable to a traditional, high-speed dental drill without causing the burning of a traditional laser.
The Waterlase combines laser technology with a cool stream of water allowing for drilling and cutting with no smell, no noise, no vibration and little or no pain. Many patients find that they can have their cavities filled without the need for anesthetics.
This laser dental technology can be used for procedures like cavities and gum re-contouring as well as to treat periodontal diseases. During a re-contouring procedure, the laser is used to address a “too gummy” smile by removing the extra gum and reshaping the gum line. The laser treatments are especially beneficial for patients with periodontal diseases and issues. The laser is used to reduce gum inflammation and infections, all with very little pain. Plus, the treatment areas remain free from bacteria for up to 30 days.
